Digital prosthetics technologies CAD/CAM

What are digital prosthetics?

Now digital technologies cannot be separated not only from our daily lives but also from medicine. Undeniably, advanced technologies have improved in dental procedures as well. By using one of the novelties in dental prosthetics field – CAD/CAM (Computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing) technology – the doctors of the MedWell will take care that your daily companion will be not just digital technologies but also a wide smile.

Many patients associate dental prosthetics with an unpleasant procedure, taking traditional impressions, many trips to the dentist, spending many hours in their office. All of us want shorter trips to doctors, but at the same time, strong, high quality, long-lasting and aesthetic restorations. From now on it is possible with the most advanced digital prosthetics technology.

What is special about CAD/CAM technology?

Usually, dental prosthetic procedures take multiple trips to your dentist. At first the tooth is polished, temporary crowns are made, then an impression is made, and a new crown is made in a laboratory. These procedures take numerous weeks, and if additional corrections are required even longer. With CAD/CAM technology, with the use of bio-coordinated materials, that match the strength of the tooth, dental prosthetics can be completed particularly quickly and precisely! In a few hours a permanent metal-free ceramic crown is made and cemented, and the teeth of the whole mouth can be dealt with a couple of days.

How is digital prosthesis performed?

  • By the use of CEREK (manufactured in Germany) system intraoral camera teeth are scanned and immediately a 3D representation of teeth can be seen on screen. The future tooth is formed before the patient’s eyes.
  • With the aid of the 3D printing device, a very precise tooth’s restoration can be printed in 10-15 minutes.
  • The restoration of the tooth is affixed to the tooth and becomes a part of the tooth. Chewing is allowed immediately after the procedure, once the anaesthetic has worn off.

By using CAD/CAM technology you save time, experience less unpleasantness in the dentist’s chair, and can enjoy a strong and aesthetic restoration for many years to come.
